Mom Knows Best

I am wondering when my kids will learn that they should do what they are told and not argue with me.  It would save so much time.  Here are two (of MANY) example.
Me- Please get your hair clips, pony tail holder, and hair brush out of the car and put them away.
DD- Yes, ma'am.

A little while later.

Me- The bathroom counter is not where your hair stuff goes.  Go put it AWAY.
DD- Yes, ma'am.

A little while later.

Me- The bathroom counter is not where your hair stuff goes. Go put it AWAY.

DD- I DID!
Me- No, you didn't.
DD- I DID!
Me- No, the hair brush is still on the bathroom counter.
DD- No it is not.  I PUT IT AWAY!
Me- No, you didn't

We walk to the bathroom.  DD picks the hairbrush up from the counter and puts it away in the drawer, which by the way is right below where she left it on the counter.

Me-  Please take the box you left on the fireplace and put it in the recycling now, before your sister takes the recycling out to the curb.
DS- Yes, Ma'am.

A little while later.

Me- The box is still on the fireplace.
DS- Oh, I forgot.
Me- Well go take it out to the recyling.
DS- I can't, the can is already at the curb.
Me- Yes, you can you will just have to take it all the way to the curb.

DS stomps away grumbling.

Life would be so much easier for them if they did what I said the right way the first time.  I am sure my mom siad the same thing about me but I really think I learned faster!

Wisdom from an (Almost) Seven Year Old

Daddy told me I had to wash me feet. I did even though they weren't very dirty because Daddy told me to. And anyway feet are never REALLY clean even when you just washed them. Kinda like lines. Even if you draw them straight they are never REALLY straight because there are always some bumps in them.
